“We had such fun with Kate + Nathan in France. As Francophiles, they know the places to eat and experience, as well as just being so easy to relate to.
There was flexibility in the trip where we could do things we wanted to do, but just loved the idea that regardless of the day, we all met in the evening and enjoyed food, wine and each other’s company. Won’t be the last time we experience France with Kate + Nathan!”
“Kate and Nathan are such wonderful friends and hosts. We had incredible experiences in places we'd never have managed to find on our own.
My partner and I spent 8 amazing days in France with Kate and Nathan. The first few days in Paris were magic, I felt like I was in a movie. The beautiful architecture, the good food and the lovely people. Everyone was so nice everywhere we went.
On the second part of our trip in France, we were at a beautiful Chateau where most evenings we ate meals in that were prepared and cooked by Nathan. It was so great to to get to really spend time with our group and get to know everyone a little better. Laughter and musics filled the house most evenings.
We spent a day in Dijon, which absolutely looked like a town out of a Harry Potter book or Disney- so beautiful and full of history and amazing architecture.
I loved how relaxed living is in France- everyone works hard, they just know when to take time to relax and enjoy what they are working for. We had an amazing experience, made some beautiful new friends and can’t wait to return to Paris hopefully in a few years. Thank you Kate and Nathan for an unforgettable trip and beautiful experience that will always be treasured.
“Anyone who has dined at one of Nathan and Kate’s establishments will know the understated quality of the experience, and to join them on a tour of France, the country that inspires and drives their passion and style was an opportunity too good to miss!
As a first time traveller, the whole experience was as friendly, smooth, and professional as I could have ever hoped for. From the time of committing to go on the trip until I reluctantly stepped back on Australian soil it was amazing.
In Paris, the mix of wining, dining, coffee, and sight seeing was perfect, as we walked, Ubered, and travelled on the metro around the city. I couldn’t help but notice how each day was subtly tailored to suit everyone in the group at various times and how Kate and Nathan’s relaxed demeanour rubbed off on everyone else in the group.
Even when due to the vagaries of the French holiday season (and casual attitude to time) a venue, despite being booked well in advance, was inexplicably closed, with a little on the spot research they were able to quickly arrange another and provide us with an incredible dining experience.
It’s very hard to pick a highlight from the many fine establishments we visited, but i was really impressed that we didn’t just go to the most obvious venues, and with Nathan and Kate’s extensive knowledge, and in some cases, established relationships, we were able to enjoy a more “local” experience in a wide range of amazing bistros, cafes, and bars where the service, food, wine and coffee were everything you could hope for. Oh and did I mention the architecture around Paris??? Simply magnificent!!
Everyone should have a week in a French countryside chateau at some point in there lives. Need I say more? Travelling to amazing markets in Dijon and Beaune all within easy distance was hard to take… (not!) Relaxing around the chateau provided a perfect balance with Nathan and Kate as the perfect hosts. Did I mention the incredible architecture of these small towns? It has to be experience to be believed.
The whole trip was like a travelogue you would see on television, with nothing I could fault, and I would do the exact same trip again (and again, and again!) Such an amazing experience in so many ways. Thank you Nathan and Kate…
My trip to Paris and Burgundy with Around Our Table was absolutely wonderful. The tour itinerary had been thoroughly researched and organised to provide a broad range of "foodie" experiences, many of which would not have been possible as a solo traveller. Kate and Nathan shared their passion for French cuisine and lifestyle and each day was delivered with enthusiasm, fun, and generosity. It felt more like travelling with friends than being on a tour.
So many memorable experiences, from exploring the central arrondissements and dining at a diverse range of restaurants and cafes, to living in a small town in Burgundy, with daily trips to local food markets, afternoon cooking classes, and an evening game of pétanque. A unique and thoroughly enjoyable food journey!
I’m not an organised tour person, I’m just not patient enough to play nicely with a bus full of strangers. But when I discovered Around Our Table and their small group adventures to France I knew this concept was for me.
Kate and Nathan also own Bistrot Plume in Victoria and are Francophiles. From our first meeting in Paris I knew I had done the right thing.
Ten glorious days followed in Paris and Burgundy-A fabulous mix of fun, cooking, exploring, and relaxing with a like-minded group of six lovely travelling companions. We were gently “directed” by Kate whose organisational skills are brilliant, add Nathan’s cooking abilities and his truly wonderful hosting style and you have the perfect match. If you think you would love to follow in my broad, flat, stumbling footsteps contact the lovely Kate at Around Our Table. It will change your world.
